You are once again in control on the trips between the various planets and there are plenty of enemies to take care during the transports.

The weapons upgrade system mixes two principles where simple guns only get better with use, while others are upgraded with secret parts that often changes things up quite a bit. One example is the Sniper Rifle that highlights enemy weak points, while the shotgun is now only useful at very close range. There are more returning weapons than usual, but on the upside they have become more balanced and more enjoyable.
Ratchet & Clank is still mostly about reducing your enemies to atoms with a sizable arsenal of weapons. He meets General Alistar Azimuth, one of the other few surviving members of the Lombax race, and he has a plan to change the destiny of the Lombax. He is still trying to find Clank, but the fate of his Lombax race is also mixed into the story. With Ratchet everything remains as you would expect it.

His extreme hatred towards all organic life and co-operation with the butler Lawrence gives the developers plenty of opportunities to deliver the sharp wit and the insane duo could very well star in their own game.Įven though A Crack in Time is the final chapter in the Future trilogy you don't have to have played either Tools of Destruction of Quest for Booty in order to enjoy this game. This weird, screaming, scheming, and certifiable dictator and robot, is together with the dynamic duo of Ratchet and Clank the funniest character Insomniac have created. Where it seems that everyone is leaning towards realism, shades of grey and cynical storylines it provides us with something simple, fun and with naive humour of the highest calibre.ĭoctor Nefarious was reintroduced as the main villain in Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty. The most important reason for my feelings towards Ratchet & Clank is that it offers something that has become a rare commodity in today's library of games.
